About Brooke Hobbs

This is my 15th year in education. I taught 8 years in Mesquite ISD and this is my 7th year here in Sunnyvale ISD.

I graduated from Texas A&M University of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I also earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University of Commerce. I have been trained in the MTA Program and have an English as a Second Language Certification (EC-12) as well as a Special Education Certification (EC-12).

Being an educator is wonderful, but being a mom is what I am most proud of. My daughter Jacquelin graduated from High School in May and will continue her education at Texas A&M University. Whoop!

Teaching is my passion and building relationships with my students and their families is one of my top priorities. Teaching in Sunnyvale ISD and building relationships within our community has been such a blessing to me.

I look forward to another amazing year as a Raider!!

How Sunnyvale Identifies English Learners

Below you will find a video that outlines how English Learners are identified in our district.  This is a process used across the state and helps us provide support and services for our students.

Texas Dyslexia Handbook

On September 3rd, 2021, the State Board of Education (SBOE) gave final approval for updates to the Dyslexia Handbook. Some of the updates to the Dyslexia Handbook may require LEAs to make policy, procedure, and practice changes. The updated Dyslexia Handbook will go into effect on February 10th, 2022.

The handbook contains guidelines for school districts to follow as they identify and provide services for students with dyslexia. In addition, information regarding the state's dyslexia statutes and their relation to various federal laws is included.
